“The flex that you need! Perfect for expansion and adhesion ATECHFLEX® Poly is a one-component gun-grade polyurethane-based construction sealant with a low modulus. It cures through air moisture to generate a soft rubber-like substance with superior elastic and adhesive strength. Polyurethane sealant dries at humidity and room temperature since it is a one-component elastomeric sealer. The versatility of polyurethane sealant makes it useful for both sealing and adhering. In this sense, polyurethane sealant is a type of adhesive. The high sealant strength of polyurethane sealant on various surfaces, combined with its high degree of flexibility, is the primary reason for its widespread use. Polyurethane sealant shines when it comes to vibration, impact, and sound. This sealant also has a far higher mechanical strength than silicone. It has several practical applications in general buildings, including external construction, expansion joints, caulking, and waterproofing. Blockwork Masonry/Brickwork, External Claddings, Concrete, and Lightweight Construction are its substrates of choice. The coverage of this material depends on its application. It takes 60 minutes to dry (Touch dry). Grey, white, black, redwood, sandstone, and beige are the featured colors. It is packaged in a 600 ml sausage. “

  • What is polyurethane caulking material, and why is it used for expansion joints in brickwork and concrete?
What is polyurethane caulking material, and why is it used for expansion joints in brickwork and concrete?Polyurethane caulking material is a flexible sealant specifically designed for expansion joints in brickwork and concrete. These joints allow for the natural expansion and contraction of the materials due to temperature changes or structural movement. Polyurethane caulking material provides a durable and elastic seal that accommodates this movement while maintaining a watertight and weather-resistant barrier.
  • How is polyurethane caulking applied in expansion joints?
How is polyurethane caulking applied in expansion joints? The application of polyurethane caulking material in expansion joints involves several steps. First, the joint should be cleaned and prepared, removing any debris, dust, or old caulking material. Then, the polyurethane caulking material is applied using a caulking gun or suitable application tool, ensuring complete coverage of the joint. It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding application thickness, tooling techniques, and proper joint design for optimal performance.
  • Is polyurethane caulking suitable for both interior and exterior applications?
Is polyurethane caulking suitable for both interior and exterior applications? Yes, polyurethane caulking material is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. It is formulated to withstand a wide range of environmental conditions, including UV exposure, temperature fluctuations, and moisture. Polyurethane caulking material is commonly used in various applications, such as expansion joints in buildings, bridges, sidewalks, and other concrete or masonry structures, both indoors and outdoors.
  • How long does polyurethane caulking last in expansion joints?
How long does polyurethane caulking last in expansion joints? The lifespan of polyurethane caulking material in expansion joints can vary depending on factors such as exposure to weather conditions, joint movement, and proper installation. When applied correctly and maintained appropriately, polyurethane caulking material can provide long-lasting performance, typically ranging from 5 to 20 years. However, periodic inspections and maintenance, including reapplication or repairs as needed, are crucial to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the caulking material.
